Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Planners tables.
